WordPress.com has announced that the blog monetization feature is now free to all users. Previously, this feature was only available to users with WordPress.com premium plans.

WordPress.com blog monetization feature offers a range of options for creators to make money from their websites. Users can sell digital items like courses, photos, eBooks, and audio. They can also create membership subscriptions, collect donations, offer paid newsletters, and provide paid content.

To get started with blog monetization on WordPress.com, all you need to do is create a free WordPress.com blog and connect your payment collections account to Stripe. This means you must be located in a country that is supported by Stripe to use the feature.

WordPress.com payments​


WordPress.com Payments is available in content blocks. It supports, PayPal, credit, and debit cards payment.

WordPress.com Payments charges a commission of 10% for each successful sale on the free plans. However, users with paid plans (Commerce) will be charged zero commission for each sale. Paid plans also come with more customization options like the ability to convert your WordPress.com blog to a custom domain and create an e-commerce platform using WooCommerce.
